READY to add an instant classic to your watch collection? Bell & Ross’s recently launched BR V2 Military Beige Collection is actually inspired by the Bell & Ross Military M1 model, which was released twenty years ago. There are two lines available – the BR V2-92 and BR V2-94 – and both watches exude a distinctly vintage charisma.
Let’s start with the BR V2-92. The most arresting feature of the new BR V2-92, without a doubt, is its beige dial. Don’t expect anything fancy or elaborate here though – the BR V2-92 can be considered a return to basics.
The watch is limited to the staple functions of hours, minutes, and seconds (everything you’d expect and actually require from a timepiece, to be frank), with a small date window between 4 and 5 o’clock.
The black numerals and indices contrast against the watch’s beige dial, enabling seamless time telling. Wondering how the watch performs in the dark? Well, the metal skeletonised hour and minute hands are coated with Super-LumiNova, so you can be assured of easy readability.
If you’re after a slightly more complex timepiece, consider the new BR V2-94. Inspired by classic chronographs, this watch utilises the automatic mechanical calibre BR-CAL.301.
A quick glance at the watch face reveals what the BR V2-94 is truly capable of: in addition to the standard hours and minutes, there’s a small seconds indicator at 3 o’clock. The dial is also complemented by a 30 minute timer at 9 o’clock and a central chronograph seconds. Meanwhile, the steel case features an anodised aluminium insert and tachymeter, as well as screw-down crown and push-buttons.
Both the BR V2-92 and BR V2-94 are water-resistant to 100 metres, and comes with an elastic canvas strap crafted by Erika’s Originals or a satin-polished steel bracelet.
