Puma has got on board the sustainability movement by collaborating with UK commercial recycling company First Mile. Stefan Seidel, who heads Puma’s corporate sustainability initiatives, revealed that the move has helped divert over 40 tonnes of plastic waste from landfills and oceans. Some two million plastic bottles were reused to produce the inaugural Puma x First Mile collection, which comprises performance shoes and moisture wicking athletic wear. In time to come, the brand hopes to expand its offerings. What this means it is that you can help save the planet even while you pursue your fitness goals.

While the story for vegan deodorants is pretty much the same everywhere (ie: aluminium-free concoctions infused with essential oils), Salt & Stone has managed to distinguish itself with a unique formulation that leaves you smelling like a spa – even after rigorous training at the gym. It doesn’t stop perspiration though, so don’t forget your towel. At the very least, you know that any social distancing at the gym or track isn’t because you smell bad.

AXA recently partnered with ClassPass to provide better wellness solutions for its customers. “We want to play a part in helping people build the self-belief they need to actualise their health and fitness goals. We hope that this will lend them a hand in achieving a better life on their own terms,” shared Jean Drouffe, CEO of AXA Insurance in Singapore.

We are expecting more updates in the coming months, so watch this space. Sam Canavan, general manager of ClassPass in the Middle East and Asia Pacific, offered a hint: it’s going to be much more than a “light touch link”.

If you prefer to run in feather-light performance shoes, give Asics’ Novablast a try the next time you’re shopping for a new pair. The brand claims to have turned to the action of bouncing on trampolines for inspiration for this new design.

We can vouch for that – the shoes gave us a weightless spring in our step in various activities from running to circuit training. They weigh in at just 275g and feature Flytefoam Blast midsoles that provide both excellent cushioning and perceived energy return. Asics has also engineered this model to enhance its responsiveness for impact reduction and improved toe-off. To top it off, the design also incorporates the brand’s exclusive Aharplus rubber for added support.

Available at Asics stores islandwide.
